Created by scientists, software engineers, and teachers
Zoom In was created by Education Development Center, Inc.’s Center for Children and Technology (EDC/CCT) and the Oceans of Data Institute (ODI), in collaboration with Concord Consortium and Blenderbox.
EDC's Center for Children and Technology (EDC/CCT) is a group of media researchers, teachers, and designers, based in New York City, who have been working with schools and teachers to improve the circumstances in which teaching and learning occur, with and without technology, for three decades. EDC/CCT initially developed and tested the Zoom In learning platform for history teaching, and have expanded that work to include the integration of authentic datasets in Zoom In Science and Zoom In Urban Mobility.
EDC’s Oceans of Data Institute (ODI) is dedicated to transforming education to help people succeed in school, work, and life in a data-intensive world. ODI’s work in K-16 classrooms is focused on building basic data literacy skills as an integrated part of STEM education, and includes research and development on learning tools and curricula for working with data.
